Born in China and curretnly living in Miami, Florida, Lynn Van Wey is a student at Palmer Trinity School. Over the course of her European History class, her worldly perspectives have grown even further to Africa, particularly Sudan. There, the civil war continues to displace and kill thousands of people. The underlying causes are similar to conflicts around the world -- fighting over natural resources such as oil and water, religious disputes between Muslims and Christians, and persecution of the weak by the powerful. Lynn believes that, as citizens of the world, we have the duty to help those harmed in conflicts like those in Sudan. By using our talents, we can try to ease the plight of the Sudanese caught in these coflicts and help foster peace for their homeland.
